In the U.S., federal Title IV-E adoption assistance is available
for families who adopt children who have special needs. To determine

Social Security Benefits - Under
Title XX of the Social Security Act, special needs adoptees are
eligible for social security benefits if there is an adoption assistance
agreement in effect for the child.
Tax Benefits for Adoption -
Tax benefits may be available to you. To find out, check with your

National Adoption Foundation
- (NAF) offers grants to adopting parents worth up to $7,500. In
addition, through a joint program with MBNA America Bank, NAF has
arranged for unsecured, low-interest adoption loans of up to $25,000.

Employer Assistance
- Employers who offer adoption benefits may provide cash assistance
for adoption expenses, reimbursement of approved adoption expenses,
paid or unpaid leave, and resource and referral services. For more

Gift of Adoption Fund- (GOAF) The Gift of Adoption Fund is a national 501(c) 3 that inspires adoptions by giving grants that put adoption in reach: in reach for the 140 million children worldwide in need of families, for qualified parents yearning to adopt, and for those of us who want to do something concrete to move a child from a dire situation into a life of hope and promise.
